10 Jahre MONO INC.’s Voices of Doom
Hier ein Zitat der Band um Martin Engler zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum ihres dritten Longplayers:
“Heute vor genau 10 Jahren erblickte ein Album die Welt, das unser Leben nachhaltig verändern sollte: VOICES OF DOOM. Es erreichte nie die Charts und war auch kein kommerzieller Erfolg – aber es öffnete uns einige Türen, die bis dato verschlossen waren. So durften wir mit diesem Album im Gepäck unsere erste eigene Tournee spielen (mit teilweise sogar mehr als 10 Besuchern) und wurden von UNHEILIG als Vorgruppe mit auf Konzertreise genommen. Man kann über die Musik des Grafen denken was man möchte, Geschmäcker sind zum Glück verschieden, aber für uns war seine Einladung ein echter Glückstreffer: wir konnten als erste von den drei Bands am Abend auf den größten Bühnen dieses Landes in unseren 30 Minuten versuchen, das Publikum zu überzeugen. Wir durften Erfahrungen sammeln und lernen, dass Konzertbesucher eine sehr feine Nase dafür haben, ob die Künstler dort auf der Bühne nur Ihren “Job” erledigen oder mit brennendem Herzen bei der Sache sind. Für diese Chance werden wir UNHEILIG immer dankbar bleiben.
Heute, 10 Jahre später, hat sich einiges verändert: die Songs VOICES OF DOOM oder auch GOTHIC QUEEN haben dann im Verborgenen doch noch ein paar Millionen an Plays angesammelt und sind heimlich doch sowas wie Hits geworden! Das macht uns glücklich und stolz. Außerdem sind wir sehr glücklich und sehr stolz, dass viele Fans von damals noch heute zu unseren Shows kommen: man kennt sich, man freut sich aufeinander – und man weiß, was man an einander hat. Ihr seid großartig! Danke für 10 intensive, unvergessliche Jahre!

Exactly 10 years ago an album saw the light of the world, which should deeply change all of our lifes: VOICES OF DOOM. It never reached the charts and was no commercial success – but it opened many doors for us, that had been closed up until then. Packed with this Album we could go on our first own tour (sometimes even with more than 10 guests) and UNHEILIG took us with them on their concert trip to support them. You can think about the count’s music, whatever you like, luckily tastes are different, but to us this invitation was a really lucky shot: we were, for the first time ever, able to ty and convince the audience in our 30 minutes on the biggest stages this country has to offer. We were able to collect experiences and learn, that the visitors habe a really good sense for differentiating artists just doing their “job”, or being in it with all their heart and passion. We are forever grateful to UNHEILIG for giving us this chance!
Today, 10 years later, so much has changed: the songs from VOICES OF DOOM and GOTHIC QUEEN have covertly collected millions of plays and secretly became something like hits! This makes us so happy and proud. We are also grateful and proud, that even some fans from back then still go to our concerts: you know each other, you are excited for each other – and you know what you have about the other one. You are awesome! Thank you all for 10 intensive, unforgettable years!
