Crusade of Bards wurde 2016 von Paolo Andreotti (Keyboards & Gesang) und Eleanor Tenebre (Gesang) gegründet und begann als Studioprojekt mit einem kühnen Ziel: klassische und volkstümliche Instrumentierung mit der Kraft und Erhabenheit des modernen Metal zu verschmelzen.
Ihr Debütalbum Tales of Bards & Beasts (2019) entführte die Zuhörer in eine Welt, in der orchestrale Klänge auf Folk-Melodien treffen, in der Chöre und traditionelle Instrumente über heavy Riffs tanzen – ein reichhaltiges, melodisches Mosaik aus Mythen, Legenden, bewegenden Balladen und kampfbereiten Hymnen. Mit diesem ersten Album konnte die Band ihre Live-Aktivitäten mit Auftritten in Spanien, Frankreich, der Schweiz und Deutschland beginnen.
Auf dieser Grundlage erweiterte ihr zweites Album Tales of the Seven Seas (2022) den Horizont: Ausgehend von tatsächlichen Ereignissen und Geschichten, die mit den großen Ozeanen der Welt verbunden sind, bot das Album eine mitreißende Reise durch Geografie und Geschichte – ein mutiger konzeptioneller Sprung. Mit zwei Gesangsstimmen (männlich/weiblich), orchestralem Anspruch, Folk- und Pagan-Anklängen und einer dramatischen Fusion aus Chor und Metal schuf es sich eine unverwechselbare Nische in den Kreisen des Symphonic, Folk, Gothic und Pagan Metal. Die Live-Auftritte wurden in ganz Europa fortgesetzt, darunter auch erste Auftritte bei Festivals in Deutschland und Großbritannien.
Im Laufe der Jahre entwickelte sich Crusade of Bards von einer im Studio entstandenen Idee zu einer Kraft auf der Bühne und lieferte Live-Auftritte, die sie selbst als „Wiener Orchester unter der Leitung von Davy Jones“ beschreiben – zu gleichen Teilen theatralische symphonische Größe und viszerale Metal-Energie.
Derzeit bereitet die Band ihr lang erwartetes drittes Album Tales of Distant Worlds vor, das letzte der Tales-Trilogie (Release Date: 24.07.2026). Für dessen Veröffentlichung hat die Band einen Vertrag mit dem renommierten deutschen Label NoCut Entertainment unterzeichnet und bereitet derzeit mehrere Shows und Festivalauftritte vor, um das Album in ganz Europa und Großbritannien umfassend zu promoten.

Building on that foundation, their sophomore full-length, Tales of the Seven Seas (2022), expanded the scope: drawing from actual events and tales tied to the world’s great oceans, the album delivered a sweeping journey across geography and history — a bold conceptual leap. With dual male/female vocals, orchestral ambition, folk and pagan overtones, and dramatic choir + metal fusion, it carved a distinctive niche among symphonic, folk, gothic and pagan metal circles. The live action continued throughout Europe and with the first appearances at festivals in Germany and the United Kingdom.
Over the years, Crusade of Bards evolved from a studio-born idea into a force on stage, delivering live performances they describe themselves as a “Wien-Orchestra directed by Davy Jones” — equal parts theatrical symphonic grandeur and visceral metal energy.
Nowadays, the band is preparing their third long-awaited album Tales of Distant Worlds, the last of the Tales Trilogy (Release Date: 24.07.2026). For its release, the band has signed with the famous German label NoCut Entertainment and is currently preparing several shows and festival appearances to promote it thoroughly all over Europe and the United Kingdom.
