With their somber mixture of brute electro and unusual instruments such as electronic bagpipes and lyres, Heimataerde definitely are an unmistakable event. Lost for words describing Heimataerde’s music, the press invented the genre Medieval Electro. But minstrels and fayres are far from the world of crusades this project draws to one’s attention. A pantheon of undead, templers and fanatics will be risen by Heimataerde, who will commit countless crimes in the name of god in front of a breughelesk, hellish scenery, if it fits their needs.
Founded in 2004, the studio-project Heimataerde only committed to the numerous calls for live-shows after three years and three internationally highly successful records. It was at first presented on the Wave Gotik Treffen 2007 in Leipzig. Since then Heimataerde have been excitedly admitted into the big European festivals and have casted a spell on the audience with their crusader-opera.
Heimataerde are in a constant state of development. Ever since their starting live-shows they have grown into a dynamic band, which is open for something new and always trying to perfect their sound. Without variation Heimataerde would be unthinkable. Ideas, sound, line-ups and, last but not least, the visuals of the band document an ongoing evolution of the original idea since the beginning.
There’s new material and a new album in the pipeline for 2019. The line-up gained an extension with Henry von Kent on drums, who contributes to define a new character and sound for the band. Even on the stage front there will be reinforcements soon and they will higher the live-perfomances even more.
